Prophets Are Human. We met Doug and Jean: Adventist church members seriously troubled by questions about the role of Ellen White. With the help of their church pastor, Jared Downton, and a local college professor, Dr Smithurst, they explored the biblical expectations of prophets and how Ellen White matched that role. But questions remained unanswered: What happened after the death of Ellen White in 1915? What is significant about the 1919 Bible Conference, the records of which were lost for so many years? How and why did the church get Ellen White wrong? And are her writings still relevant for the Adventist Church today?
