Man on a Mission takes you on a sobering and at times frightening journey to humanitarian frontiers on four continents. With more than thirty years experience as a charity worker, the author focuses on how one of the world’s leading aid agencies ADRA has responded to a variety of desperate cries for help. Front line actions include help for heroin addicts in Thailand, pygmy preservation projects in Uganda and life threatening episodes throughout the Balkan Peninsula as aid and hope are delivered during an era of enormous political turbulence. There are many heart-breaking stories as well as vivid illustrations of the unbelievable transformation which has taken place as affluent countries have stepped in to help their poorer neighbours.

In his travels to more than 100 countries, John Arthur has met with seven heads of state including The Queen from whom he received the award of an OBE. He was also granted the Order of Mother Teresa in recognition of ADRA’s outstanding work in Albania.
