God’s first earthly journey recorded in the Bible was a missionary I journey-walking to and fro in the Garden of Eden, searching for Adam and Eve. From the very beginning, it has been God’s mission to seek and to save those who are lost. Abraham, Solomon, and Isaiah all reference God’s walks, or journeys, to rescue His people. The Bible’s overriding message is that of God’s mission, God’s plan, and God’s initiative to save fallen and rebellious humans and restore for their benefit a just, peaceful, safe, sinless, and sustainable world.

“Only God can carry out the rescue because only God has the resources to devote to the mission.” This most valuable resource is His Son, Jesus Christ, whose life, death, resurrection, and current heavenly ministry are key to the success of His mission.
